The Barbados Fire Academy, formerly known as the Barbados Fire Service Training and Development Unit, was established in January of 2006 with a mandate to provide quality, up-to-date and relevant fire and rescue training and developmental programmes for the members of the Barbados Fire Service.

It was quickly envisioned by the founding officers that this entity could be the premier provider of fire and rescue training and developmental programmes in Barbados and the region.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Barbados Fire Academy (BFA) is to provide quality, up-to-date and relevant fire and rescue training and development programmes for the members of the Barbados Fire Service other regional Fire and Rescue Services and the general public.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to be the premier provider of Fire and Rescue Training and Developmental programmes in Barbados and the region.
