The Mission of the Barbados Fire Academy is to provide quality, up-to-date and relevant fire and rescue training and development programmes for the members of the Barbados Fire Service, other regional fire and rescue services and the general public. We are therefore a provider of fire and rescue and fire safety training.

The Barbados Fire Academy is a registered training provider with the Barbados Accreditation Council and an approved training centre with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (TVET). We offer the following training courses:

General Public: Fire and Life Safety Training, Evacuation Procedures

Schools: Junior Fire Cadet Programme

Fire and Rescue Services: Fire Fighter I, Fire Fighter II, Crew Manager (Fire Officer I), Watch Manager (Fire Officer II), Station Manager (Fire Officer III), Fire Service Instructor, Fire Service Inspector, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Material Awareness, Hazardous Material Operations, Rope Rescue and Rappelling, Structural Search and Rescue, Confine Space Rescue, High-rise Firefighting

As long as an individual, group or organisation qualify for any of the services offered by the Barbados Fire Academy, the service can be accessed by making a formal request in writing to the Chief Fire Officer, or request via our online services . Accessible via the link /training-request
