About 40 children of Camp St Lawrence received a lesson in fire safety yesterday at St Lawrence Primary School in Christ Church.
Benny, the Barbados Fire Service mascot, and Christ Church parish ambassadors Jefferson Best and Vicky Prescod, responded to questions raised by the enthusiastic campers between the ages of four and 14 years about fire safety and prevention.
Camp director and public relations officer of the Parish Independence Committee, Margeta Walcott, said they were mandated to focus on disaster preparedness, and Christ Church opted to explore fire safety.
She added the committee had also handed out flyers to residents educating them about ways to prevent fires. (DG)
