The Barbados Fire Service's Library and Information
Resource Centre provides
free access to its resource material for
the general development and informational
needs of its clients. The clients include
Fire Service personnel, several Government
departments, schools, students and members
of the public. The library has the responsibility of selecting materials
which reflect a wide variety of information
relative to the profession of fire fighting
and the Fire Service.

Resource Material
The Library and Information Resource Centre
(LIRC) currently provides resource material
in the following formats: books, periodicals,
newsletters, journals, newspapers, technical
reports, audio cassettes, video cassettes,
photographs and compact discs. The subject
areas covered include: fire science and engineering,
fire service administration, disaster mitigation,
emergency care, occupational health and safety,
hazardous materials management, fire service
codes and standards of compliance, local
laws and other information.

Visitors are welcome, but an appointment must be made before visiting
